Anesco achieves RoSPA Gold for 6th year running

Anesco has been given top marks for its outstanding occupational health and safety practices, for a sixth consecutive year.

The Reading-based company, which is a leader in the field of large-scale solar development and energy storage, has been awarded a gold medal by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The RoSPA Awards scheme recognises achievements in health and safety practices, including leadership and workforce involvement. To achieve gold, Anesco has demonstrated strong occupational health and safety management systems, with outstanding control of risk and very low levels of error, harm and loss.

Commenting on the award, Steve Shine, Anesco executive chairman, said: “Providing a safe and nurturing environment within which our employees can work, has always been one of our core values and we’re proud to yet again be recognised for our comprehensive health and safety practices.

“My thanks go to the whole team, for continuing to uphold these principles, while helping us achieve ground breaking projects and industry firsts.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most highly-respected in the health and safety arena, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, and allow organisations to prove excellence in the workplace, demonstrating a commitment to the wellbeing of not only employees but all those who interact with it.”

Anesco employs in excess of 150 permanent members of staff, with up to 600 contractors and 103 supply chain partners and logistics staff employed at any one time. Its specialist team has managed many of the UK’s largest and most complex renewable energy projects.

Anesco has developed 102 solar farms, while its operations and maintenance service is monitoring more than 21,500 sites. The company’s energy storage portfolio currently stands at 87MW of operating assets and is on track to exceed 380MW by 2020.
