Anesco shortlisted for three industry awards

Anesco has been shortlisted for a hat-trick of awards as part of the 2018 National Energy Efficiency Awards.

Now in their third year, the awards recognise excellence and best practice in the energy efficiency sector. They highlight exceptional projects and achievements that have been made within the industry in the last 12 months.

Anesco has been shortlisted in three categories: solar PV contractor, solar PV project and funding provider of the year.

For Anesco, 2017 was a standout year. The company achieved a number of industry firsts, including unveiling the UK’s first subsidy-free solar farm, Clayhill. The hybrid site combines 10MW solar PV with 6MW battery storage and was officially opened by minister for climate change, Claire Perry.

The team navigated a range of technical and commercial complexities to achieve a subsidy-free development, utilising strong partnerships within the supply chain and reengineering the process of design and construction

In September 2017, Anesco also became the first company to retain ROC accreditations for solar sites retrofit with energy storage – a landmark achievement for the industry. The company remains the only developer to successfully co-locate energy storage with existing solar farms and is driving growth in the sector, thanks to the creation of a detailed financial modelling tool.

Commenting on the awards, Steve Shine, Anesco executive chairman, said: “We’re delighted to be shortlisted in these prestigious industry awards. As a company, we are consistently breaking new ground and first to market with new technologies and models of working. We’re committed to innovation and to ensuring our customers achieve the maximum benefit from their renewable investments.”

Anesco has developed 102 solar farms, while its operations and maintenance service is monitoring more than 21,500 sites. The company’s energy storage portfolio currently stands at 87MW of operating assets and is on track to exceed 380MW by 2020.

The winners of the Energy Efficiency Awards 2018 will be announced on 7 September at a gala event held in Birmingham. For more information visit www.energyefficiencyawards.co.uk.
