Owls Lodge

Anesco has designed, managed and constructed a 10MWp solar farm at Owls Lodge, near Andover. Previously used for grazing, the site was designed and constructed using 35,000 PV modules covering an area of almost 40 acres.

Project Outline

It has the potential to generate an annual yield of 10,948,000kWhrs/yr – enough electricity to power over 3,300 homes.

In addition to the 350,000 meters of cable installed on site, a new 33kV supply cable was installed to SSE’s local substation some 3km away, including a bore drill under the busy A303 dual carriageway. Work on the site commenced in November and was completed in February, ready for a March energisation.

The solar farm has been completed as part of a 25year land lease agreement and will be maintained and monitored by Anesco through its unique AnescoMeter service.
