Anesco wins national health and safety award for second year running

For the second year running leading energy efficiency solutions company, Anesco, has won national recognition for its approach to safety and the prevention of accidents and ill health.
The Reading-based company, which has designed and managed some of the UK’s largest energy efficiency projects, has again won the prestigious Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
Anesco works with businesses, local authorities and homeowners looking to reduce their carbon emissions and energy bills. The company employs in excess of 100 permanent employees, with up to 350 contractors employed at any one time and more than 30 supply chain partners and logistics staff.
Anesco’s CEO, Adrian Pike, said: “Last year Anesco was the youngest company ever to win Gold and to win it again is a tremendous achievement. This award is based on the health and safety performance of the organisation over the past 12 months and I know how passionate and committed the team at Anesco has been in the safety culture we have, not just with our people but also our customers and supply chain.”
He added: “Safety is one of our core values and in my view, the most important, so to achieve this accolade once again is a fantastic achievement for us all.”
The RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2014 is the largest and longest-running awards programme of its kind in the UK.
David Rawlins, RoSPA Awards Manager, said: “The RoSPA Awards programme provides well-deserved recognition for the winners and spurs on other organisations to raise their standards of accident and ill health prevention. We congratulate Anesco on its success for the second year running and encourage it, and all our other winners, to remain committed to safety and health, an approach that is well recognised to be good for workers and the bottom line.”
The RoSPA Awards scheme recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention and is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas. They look at accident records, but also entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including leadership practices and workforce involvement.
