Green energy firm cements reputation as one of Britain’s fastest growing companies

Anesco, the UK’s leading energy efficiency solutions provider, has achieved a 33% growth in revenue in the last financial year, with its turnover now hitting £213m and an operating profit of £25.1m.
The figures cement Anesco’s reputation as one of the fastest growing companies in Britain, with further growth expected and forecasts pointing towards a turnover of £500m by the 2019/20 financial year.
Reading-based Anesco, which recently topped the Sunday Times Profit Track 100 list, works with businesses, local authorities and homeowners to reduce their carbon emissions.
Demand for its services, which include solar PV, ground source heat pumps and lighting design, installation and maintenance, has seen both its turnover and workforce swell. The company now has more than 150 permanent members of staff and up to 600 contractors and 103 supply chain partners and logistics staff employed at any one time.
Anesco’s recent innovations include being the first to introduce commercial scale battery storage, with over 20MW in either operation, construction or delivery. It was also the first to roll out residential battery storage solutions and to launch the ESCO model in the UK, which offers organisations fully funded energy efficiency solutions.
Solar energy measures Anesco has under management generate over 586MWh of power – enough to supply more than 154,000 homes for a year – whilst its residential energy business has helped raise over 275,000 people out of fuel poverty.
Last month Anesco was ranked number one in The Sunday Times’ Profit Track 100 list, having grown its operating profits by an average 179% a year since 2012, reaching £21m in 2015. The latest financial results from Anesco show the operating profit for 2016 stands at £25.1m.
The organisation has been named one of the country’s fastest growing private companies for the last two years and is recognised as one of the top 100 cleantech firms in the world. Its senior team has been named BVCA management team of the year for three years running – an achievement never before seen in the history of the awards.
Looking ahead the company plans to keep building on its strengths and expertise to benefit others, with several community energy projects in the pipeline and further partnerships with the likes of the RSPB aiming to boost the diversity of wildlife at its solar farm sites.
