Council say YES to Anesco

West Sussex County Council  has awarded an operations and maintenance contract to Anesco for solar panels installed in domestic properties, commercial buildings and solar farms across Sussex.

Through its Your Energy Sussex programme, the County Council has ambitious plans to increase the amount of renewable energy generated and used in the county. It has built solar farms on County Council land, one of which is capable of powering more than 2,400 homes, developed its first project with large scale battery storage and is installing solar PV to more than 60 schools.

It has also launched its own not-for-profit domestic energy supplier under the Your Energy Sussex name.

Commenting on the contract, Tom Coates, Senior Advisor for YES states ”Making sure that we have robust O&M arrangements in place is absolutely key as we work to increase our generation assets in West Sussex. We are pleased to be working with Anesco who, through the procurement process, demonstrated to us that they have a solid track record in this area”
Anesco, who work with many local authorities are currently the only company that has the infrastructure and experience to support and maintain both domestic and commercial renewable energy installations.

Chris Colley, Director of Operations & Maintenance, for Anesco comments ‘we are delighted to be working with West Sussex County Council on a project that is not only having such a positive effect on the lives of many residents in Sussex but the YES scheme is contributing to lower carbon emissions, so it is having a positive impact on the environment’.

The contract which includes performance monitoring, maintenance and panel cleaning went live in early July.
